1. Install the SwiftModders Blesta Theme Installer
Before installing the Allure Blesta Theme, you must install the SwiftModders Blesta Theme Installer. The Theme Installer handles the licensing checks and activation of the theme. Please follow the linked article for instructions on how to install.
2. Download the latest version of the Allure Blesta Theme
Now that the Theme Installer has been installed, you’re prepped and ready to install the theme. Log into your account and navigate to the Downloads page (“My Services”> “Downloads”). You should see a list of all your theme purchases and click on the Allure Blesta Theme download link.
3. Copy your theme license key
While in your account section, you will also need to grab your license key. This will come in handy later after we’ve installed the theme! Visit the Licenses page (“My Services”> “Licenses”) to view all of your available license keys.
Once loaded, you will see a list of all your products and their license keys. Locate the license key for your Allure Blesta Theme license and click the “Copy” button to quickly copy it. Save the key somewhere secure for use later!
4. Choose your installation method
The Theme Installer supports two different installation methods. You can either:
- Upload the contents of the ZIP file via FTP
- Utilize the upload feature to install the files for you automatically
Choose your preferred method and follow the guide detailed below.
4a. Uploading the theme files manually
Unzip the download to your local machine
After downloading the Theme Installer, unzip the compressed file onto your local machine. You can use many different tools to handle this, and both Windows and Macs have built-in uncompression tools. For more information on how to unzip a file, please read this tutorial on WikiHow.
Upload the files to your Blesta installation
Once your ZIP file has been extracted, you can upload the theme files to your Blesta installation. Using your favorite FTP client is the best way to do this.
In the Allure Blesta Theme folder, look for the “upload” folder. Upload the contents of the “upload” directory, not the folder itself, to the root directory of your Blesta installation (only the contents of the “upload” directory). This will add the necessary plugin files into the appropriate folders so that the Theme Installer will recognize the theme is available for installation.
Access the Theme Installer and install the theme
Once your upload has been completed, log in to your Blesta admin account, click on the “Tools” menu, and select the “Theme Installer.” You should see the theme you downloaded available in the plugin and an “Install” option present. If you do not see this option, make sure you have uploaded the theme folder to the correct location. If you continue to have problems, please open a support request.
Click the “Install” button, and the process will start immediately. The Theme Installer will add a table to your Blesta MySQL database to house your customization settings. Once completed, you will be presented with a success message. Now we will need to activate your Allure Blesta Theme license.
4b. Uploading the theme ZIP for auto installation
To make this process a bit easier, we’ve added an auto-installer feature that will scan the contents of the theme ZIP file and upload the files to their correct location. To start, click on the “Tools” menu in your Blesta admin portal and select “Theme Installer.” You will see an option labeled “Install Theme” that gives you the opportunity to select a file. Click “Choose file” and select the ZIP file you downloaded for the theme. Next, click the “Install” button to start the process.
You will see a success message if the theme has been installed without any issues. However, we recommend opening a support request for assistance if any errors are reported.
5. Activate your theme license
To begin the activation process, you will need to click on the “Customize” button. Once loaded, you will see a form requesting your license key. In step 3, you copied that license key, so let’s use that here and click “Activate.” If your activation was successful, see a message stating your license is active. If your license does not activate, please make sure your license key does not contain any whitespace. If that is not the issue, please open a support request and include any error message.
6. Change your template and order form template settings
The last step will involve changing your Blesta company settings to use the appropriate templates. Head to your Blesta admin account and navigate to “Settings”> “Company”> “Look and Feel”> “Templates.” You will see an option called “Client Template,” In the dropdown, select “Allure Blesta Theme” and click “Save.
Next, click on “Packages” in the primary admin menu and select “Order Forms.” You should see a list of the Order Forms you’ve created for your products. Select one of the Order Forms and click on “Edit.”
Under the “Template” section, you can choose from a wide range of templates, but it’s important to choose one of the “Allure” order form templates for maximum compatibility. Once you’ve selected a template, click on “Edit Form”.
Optional: Update the Blesta Portal HTML
In the theme’s ZIP download, a file called “portal_html.txt” contains the updated HTML for the Blesta Portal landing page. To apply this HTML, you must log in to your Blesta admin portal. Head to “Settings” > “Plugins” and look for the “Portal” plugin. Click on the “Manage” button to edit the portal index.
On the “Manage” page will be an open textbox for the HTML. You can replace the entire contents of this textbox with the HTML inside the “portal_html.txt” file. Once replaced, click the “Update Page” button to save your changes.
